Learn more about Kyler

Born and raised in a large Portuguese-American community in Massachusetts, I have always been fascinated by different languages and cultures, which led me to study a master’s in Spanish linguistics in Madrid.
After eight years living in Spain and three years working as a content creator and project manager at a highly international, multilingual content agency, VeraContent, I now lead the company’s sales team based out of my home in Lisbon, Portugal. I have also taught a course on business communication and writing at the Geneva Business School’s Madrid campus.
Currently, I also co-host a podcast on content marketing in Europe called The Content Mix, where I interview marketing experts weekly to discuss their career journeys and insights into the current state and best practices of content marketing in the culturally and linguistically diverse region of EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa).

Here’s what Kyler can talk to your audience about:

Topic #1

Managing an international content creation team remotely

When managing remote content creators, you need to consider time zones, cultural differences, working styles, etc.—but what often gets left behind is the importance of building trusting and long-lasting relationships with these core team members.
Kyler can discuss how to foster relationships that won't only boost your marketing results, but will also make your day-to-day interactions with your team easier and more meaningful.
He can share both the hard and soft skills needed to successfully motivate content creators in a multicultural and virtual work environment—allowing you to fully embrace the benefits of this shift to a location-independent working style that so many people are adapting nowadays.

Topic #2

Marketing localization: When to translate vs. when to write new content

When launching a blog or social media channel in a new international market, is translating content from your global channels enough?
Often the answer is no, but how much you need to adapt your messages really depends on the subject matter, your target audience and how much their perspective may differ from your home market.
Kyler can discuss the top considerations you should make when deciding how much can be translated, and how much content needs to be created from scratch to truly connect with your foreign audience.

Topic #3

How to build the right team to create content at scale

Often people think the issue is finding the right writers - but that’s not always the problem. It’s about having the role and the expectations clear, so you can attract the right person for the role.
Kyler can expand on proven ways to test writers for competencies, including when looking for talent in a language you don’t speak, and how to get your process right to make sure you have the right person on the right now. One key: having an excellent brief every time.

Topic #4

How to adapt your content strategy for a new international market

You have a brand positioning and content strategy that work in your home market, but do they work internationally?
With an ever-globalizing world, many organizations are looking to take their brand across international borders but are unsure on how to truly connect with their target audiences who often speak different languages and have unique cultural values.
Kyler will discuss the specific elements of any content strategy that should be taken into consideration before making the leap abroad.

Topic #5

E-books, white papers, surveys and more: the best lead-generating content types

You can only create so much content. So how can you invest your resources to create content that will bring you the most leads?
Brand awareness and lead generation are any content marketer’s main objectives, but success is achieved only when you use the right piece of content.
Kyler can explore the different content types, from e-books to surveys, that can increase lead generation and brand awareness and result in better lead conversion.
