Here’s what Shaheen can talk to your audience about:

Topic #1

International social media accounts: How many do you really need?

It’s a question every global marketer faces: Should you create social accounts for every international market you operate in, or are there some channels where it’s best to stick with one global account?
You want to tailor your message as much as possible to each local audience, but if social media operations become too complicated you can lose control of the messaging and hurt instead of help your reputation internationally.
Shaheen can expand on the top considerations you should make before creating more social accounts, breaking it down by factors to consider and the best practices she’s seen on several of the most popular social media platforms.

Topic #2

How to create a killer content creation machine

Challenges for creating content at scale often have less to do with finding the right talent and everything to do with getting the right process in place, and having the right people in the right roles.
These challenges are further compounded when working in multiple geographies and languages. Shaheen can expand on how to set up a content workflow, how to make sure writers actually spend their time writing, how to make communication easier with your content team, and the importance of getting your policies written down so everyone is always on the same page.

Topic #3

Sourcing expertise for B2B content marketing: The power of a good interview

Subject matter experts often don’t know how to write, and good writers often aren’t subject matter experts. Finding both can be expensive or impossible. So how are you supposed to create thought leadership pieces for your company?
If only there were a way to extract the expert’s expertise, and let someone else make it sound good. Actually, you can do this with an interview. Shaheen will expand on best practices for finding the right experts, who should interview them, and how to repurpose interviews for endless content marketing possibilities.

Topic #4

Building an in-house content team vs. outsourcing

You need content - and lots of it. Certainly enough work for several full-time employees. But should you build out a division of your company dedicated to content? Many companies successfully create their own in-house content teams. And some have been so successful, they’ve spun off media divisions.
But, is that in line with your company’s strategy? On the other hand, how can you possibly trust an external agency to get your content right? Shaheen can share cases from across the spectrum: building an in-house team, working with an agency, or a combination of both. Any of these options can work, and he can spell out what are the factors that lead to success whichever direction you decide to go.

Topic #5

The importance of an editorial process

Want your content to stand out from the rest? All you need is a good editing process. Over the last decade, we’ve seen a deterioration in editing standards, thanks to the ease and speed of online publishing. Nowadays content that has been properly edited, for both substance and style, is an exception, not the rule.
Shaheen can share how her background as a newspaper journalist helped her build the editing processes she now has in place in multiple languages at her agency, VeraContent, and how you can get world-class results from your content team by putting a few essential editing processes in place.

Topic #6

Building the mindset of an effective leader

Shaheen can share takeaways from her personal journey from journalist to CEO of a leading content agency, and her tips for becoming an effective leader.
Her experience shows that you don’t have to have everything figured out at the outset to build a business that works; you can learn things along the way as you grow. You just need to be willing to commit not only to the project, but to becoming a version of yourself who has the knowledge, capabilities and focus to succeed.
