How pricing works at VeraContent

Here's everything you need to know about working with us, including our rates, conditions and FAQ below.

At VeraContent, we work on a monthly retainer basis, but we also understand that the volume of content work can vary from one month to the next.

We require a minimum monthly retainer of at least 3,000 EUR per month, but beyond that offer flexible “credit packs” that are invoiced upon purchase. The credits are valid for 12 months from the time of invoice, after which they expire.

Credits are deducted based on hourly estimates for the work, at an agreed upon hourly rate depending on the level of expertise and specific profiles needed for your project.

Credits can be used toward any of our services in any language. Once a credit pack is purchased, we provide weekly updates with a detailed breakdown of the work completed, the number of credits remaining in your pack and a reminder of when it expires.

Invoices can be issued in EUR or USD. Our rates do not include taxes or other fees, such as VAT, that may be applicable.

FAQ

We specialize in creating and managing content for European markets. We offer the fastest turnaround times in English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian, German and Dutch, for which we have ample in-house resources. However, we also collaborate with an extensive network of trusted freelancers to offer many additional languages and regional variations.

In general, we only take on projects that are primarily in European languages. But if you’re looking for centralized management of a project that includes some other major world markets, we can help.

We regularly work with the following languages, and are able to add more if the project is the right fit for our project management capabilities:

Group 1:Group 2:
BasqueFrenchPolishArabicNorwegian
BulgarianGalicianPortugueseChineseRussian
CatalanGermanRomanianDanishSlovak
CzechGreekSpanishFinnishSwedish
DutchHungarianTurkishJapaneseUkrainian

If a language you need isn’t on this list, get in touch with us to explain the details of your project, and we’ll let you know if we can take it on.

We have an exceptional team of  writers, editors and translators with extensive experience working on texts intended for mass publication. All of our team members and freelancers are native speakers of the languages they work in and experts in their craft.

We’ll assign a dedicated project manager to oversee the work of the linguists assigned to your project. They will be available during our normal working hours to accept new assignments and update you on the status of your project.

We always consider the subject matter, style and requirements of each project in order to choose the best professionals for the job. The utmost care will be taken to ensure that the final product is error-free and fit for publication.

Our in-house team of project managers and editors is based in Madrid, Spain, where our office is located, and we work with a network of trusted collaborators all over Europe and the world. If your project requires us to keep a pulse on local trends, we can ensure that the writers, translators or community managers involved are physically located in each market in question.

Absolutely. While our bread and butter is written content creation and translation, graphic design plays a significant role in many of our projects. We regularly create  infographics for blogs and branded social media assets to complement our written work.

We’re also experts at translating documents within common publishing formats, such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator.  We always prefer to work directly in these types of files, rather than extracting the plain text, so that we can ensure the content is displayed correctly in the final design.

You do. Each client has full intellectual property rights to all content produced by our team on their behalf, and may publish and alter the content in any way they please. The only exception is a refunded assignment, in which case we retain the rights to the content.

We work in practically all common file formats. Whether you need to translate a simple Word document, a corporate brochure or an entire website, you’ll receive your translated files in the same format in which they were submitted.

We’re especially adept at working directly within Adobe file formats (including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) and are skilled at reformatting files as needed to make sure the final design fits the text in the target language.

We use advanced translation software in order to handle web and software application files (.xml, .html, .htm, .strings, .po, .yml and .xliff, among many others), so that the translator doesn’t see the code—only the text to translate. This ensures that there are no changes to the code.

Please contact us if you have any questions about a particular file type.

Our minimum turnaround time for small, urgent assignments is four hours. However, the more time we have to complete an assignment, the less it will cost you.

We offer three levels of urgency.  An extra fee of 20% is charged on top of the agreed-upon base rate for express assignments, and 50% for urgent assignments.

  • Standard: Submission in a minimum of three to five working days for projects requiring up to 10 hours of work per language.
  • Express: Submission in one to three working days for projects requiring up to 10 hours of work per language.
  • Urgent: Submission in less than 24 hours for projects requiring up to 10 hours of work per language. Any assignment that must be submitted outside of our normal working hours is also considered “urgent.”

For projects requiring more than 10 hours of work per language, deadlines will be calculated proportionally and confirmed upon acceptance of the assignment.

For high-volume projects with a predictable workflow, we may be able to offer a faster turnaround time at the standard rate. Get in touch with us to explain the details of your project, and we’ll confirm which rate would apply.

For projects that involve ongoing work of a similar nature, we agree on a set number of hours per assignment or task at the start of the project. This number may need to be adjusted if the scope of the work changes.

For projects in which the nature of the work varies greatly, we work under a credit pack system, which is equivalent to a certain number of hours at our agreed-upon standard rate. The time spent on each assignment will be shared with you in automated weekly updates, along with the amount of hours remaining in the pack.

All translation, writing and rewriting work includes a second revision by a native editor to ensure that it meets our rigorous standards. When working with a set rate per assignment, up to two rounds of additional revisions are included in the price in order to incorporate client feedback.

Credit packs are invoiced upon purchase, while monthly packages are invoiced at the start of each month. You’ll receive your invoice via email, and payment is expected within 30 days. We accept payments via bank transfer, PayPal or Wise (formerly Transferwise).

Invoices can be issued in EUR or USD. Our rates do not include taxes or other fees, such as VAT, that may be applicable.

Our working hours are Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CET/CEST, with the exception of Spanish national and Madrid regional holidays. Any assignment that requires work outside of these hours will be charged at our urgent rate. To ensure availability for urgent assignments outside of our normal working hours, we require notice of at least one business day.

Yes. We charge for test assignments and will provide an exact quote once the assignment is received.

If for any reason  you’re not happy with the assignment, we’ll offer a full refund.

We’re confident that we will meet your expectations, thanks to our rigorous talent selection and editing processes. However, if for any reason you aren’t satisfied with a particular assignment, we will provide a full refund. Note that we retain the rights to any refunded assignments, and they may not be used for publication.
