Belgium-based Paola Campo, a self-described “communicator and knowledge enthusiast,” recently joined Shaheen Samavati to talk about her entrepreneurship journey. After years of working for various companies, she felt something was missing, and decided to take a leap of faith to find out what it was.

Paola runs her own business to help other entrepreneurs, solopreneurs, scaleups and startups to fast track their growth. In this interview, she discusses the differences between the corporate world and entrepreneur life, offers advice on creating content strategy and prioritizing focus, and explains why an abundance mindset always beats one of scarcity.

Paola also spoke about her course, “Unstoppable Content Machine,” which she created to help businesses harness the power of content and create meaningful connections with clients.

Rapid-fire recs

  • Favorite apps:
    • Grammarly. “It’s amazing. It helps with grammar and spelling, but it also gives you a little bit of context and helps fine-tune your voice.”
    • Canva. “It’s made designing easier and more accessible to everyone.”
    • Happy Color. “It’s an app I use to relax and take my mind off things. It’s essentially coloring by number, and I love it!”
  • Sources of inspiration:
    • TED Talks. “They’re a great source of inspiration for me—I always learn something interesting from them.”
    • Seth Godin. “His newsletter is fabulous. He’s always sharing food for thought about marketing, which I love.”
    • Malcolm Gladwell is an author that I enjoy, in addition to Neil Gaiman. They write about totally different things but they’re both really engaging.”

I think a lot of people confuse quality with something that needs to be flawless. Of course you want to make sure that things look great, but don’t spend so much time trying to create something “perfect,” only to find out that it doesn’t even resonate with your audience.
